John Stanley Marshall (nascido em 28 de agosto de 1941) é um baterista inglês e membro fundador da banda de jazz rock Nucleus . De 1972 a 1978, ele foi o baterista da Soft Machine, substituindo Phil Howard quando ele entrou.
Marshall nasceu em Isleworth , Middlesex , e trabalhou com várias bandas e músicos de jazz e rock , entre eles JJ Jackson , Allan Holdsworth , Barney Kessel , Alexis Korner , Graham Collier , Michael Gibbs , Arthur Brown , Keith Tippett , Centipede , Jack Bruce , John McLaughlin , Dick Morrissey , Hugh Hopper , Elton Dean , John Surman , Charlie Mariano , John Abercrombie , Arild Andersen e Eberhard Weber 's Colors.
Desde 1999, ele trabalhou com o ex- Soft Machine co-músicos em vários projectos relacionados com o Soft Machine como software, SoftWorks e Soft Machine Legado. Ele está atualmente em turnê como membro da banda (novembro de 2018), que opera sob o nome de Soft Machine novamente desde 2015.
