Image[edit]

If there are no objections, we should be removing the flag from this template, and replacing it with some other image. Not only is the flag not appropriate for pre-1947 people, the fact that many people that should be covered by this template belonged to regions not in the current republic, and thus never represented by its flag. For examples of what I mean, see Template:China-bio-stub and Template:Korea-bio-stub. The flag could be replaced by a historical personality. For example,

A sugestion: can we have an image of the Ashoka Pillar instead of Buddha. Ashoka Pillar is an internationally recognised symbol of India and Indian culture both in modern and historic sense.--Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 05:11, 12 May 2007 (UTC) Actually, I wanted to put this on some other place --Deepak D'Souza (talkcontribs) 05:15, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Both Ashoka and Akbar are good options. I considered them, but didn't end up suggesting them because Ashoka's picture is modern guesswork, and the Akbar painting wasn't clear in small size. But in general, any change from the current flag will be in the right direction. deeptrivia (talk) 05:54, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mk interwiki[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please add mk:Шаблон:Индија-биог-никулец interwiki. Thanks. --iNkubusse? 15:46, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Remove trailing space[edit]

{{editprotected}}

The current template makes it difficult to add multiple stubs, since it contains trailing space. Please delete the blank line between the category and the interwiki (or move the <noinclude> from the interwiki up):

[[Category:Indian people stubs<noinclude>| </noinclude>]]

<noinclude>[[mk:Шаблон:Индија-биог-никулец]]</noinclude>

You can test the result by previewing {{Asia-mathematician-stub}}{{India-bio-stub}}{{Asia-mathematician-stub}}. The spacing should be even. JackSchmidt (talk) 19:38, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unlink request[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please remove the link to 'biography' (which is just an ordinary dictionary word, per WP:OVERLINK), and 'India', which will be repeating a link in any article in which this template appears. Colonies Chris (talk) 17:26, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because there are several similar requests open, I have started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Stub sorting#Possible overlinking in bio stubs. If there is consensus there for the changes (or at least no objections), then they can all be done together. --RL0919 (talk) 16:46, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done: Per the discussion, I have unlinked the word 'biographical'. If a consensus develops for removing other links, please submit a new edit request with a link to the relevant discussion. --RL0919 (talk) 18:22, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikidata[edit]

Please delete interwikis. They are now on wikidata. Thanks. --Sanya3 (talk) 02:52, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
