Prêmio Whitfield - The Whitfield Prize
O Whitfield Prize (ou Whitfield Book Prize ) é um prêmio de £ 1.000 concedido anualmente pela Royal Historical Society ao melhor trabalho sobre um assunto da história britânica ou irlandesa publicado no Reino Unido ou na República da Irlanda durante o ano civil. Para concorrer ao prêmio, o livro deve ser a primeira obra de história publicada pelo autor.
História do prêmio
O prêmio foi fundado em 1976 com o legado de Archibald Stenton Whitfield . Originalmente, o prêmio era de £ 400; cinco anos depois, foi aumentado para £ 600. Atualmente, o prêmio é de £ 1.000.
