Joe Douglas - Joe Douglas
Joe Douglas (nascido em 1983) é um diretor de teatro, dramaturgo e performer britânico. Ele é o Diretor Artístico do Live Theatre em Newcastle.
Fundo
Douglas nasceu e foi criado em Manchester, onde frequentou o St. Bede's College. Ele estudou direção no Rose Bruford College em Londres antes de ganhar um lugar no ITV Theatre Director Scheme para treinar no National Theatre of Scotland .
Carreira
Como diretor freelance, Douglas dirigiu o Dundee Repertory Theatre , Oran Mor e o Traverse Theatre, entre outros. Ele trabalhou para o National Theatre of Scotland , HighTide e National Youth Music Theatre .
Em 2012, ele foi premiado com o primeiro prêmio Edinburgh Fringe por Educar Ronnie , um show solo baseado em suas experiências em Uganda, que ele escreveu e atuou. Dirigiu dois shows no festival de Edimburgo em 2014, incluindo uma peça de Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie .
Seus revivals de The Cheviot, the Stag, and the Black Black Oil e Death of a Salesman foram sucessos de crítica e comerciais, ganhando vários CATS .
Sua primeira produção como diretor para o Live Theatre foi Clear White Light.
