Os prêmios Green Room são prêmios de pares que reconhecem a excelência em cabaré , dança, drama, teatro marginal , teatro musical e ópera em Melbourne .

Os prêmios começaram em 1982, quando Blair Edgar e Steven Tandy formaram a Green Room Awards Association. A cerimônia de premiação inaugural foi realizada em 1984 no Melbourne Concert Hall . A associação hoje é composta por membros da comunidade de artes cênicas de Melbourne , incluindo jornalistas, performers, escritores, diretores, coreógrafos, acadêmicos, técnicos de teatro e administradores.
