" In a Mellow Tone ", também conhecido como " In a Mellotone ", é um standard de jazz de 1939 composto por Duke Ellington , com letra escrita por Milt Gabler . A canção foi baseada no padrão de 1917 " Rose Room " de Art Hickman e Harry Williams , que o próprio Ellington gravou em 1932. Howard Stern usou uma gravação desta canção (do álbum Blues in Orbit de Ellington ) como tema de abertura de The Howard Stern Show de 1987 a 1994.
